A Typical Day in Treatment
Take a guided tour of our facility to help visualize life at River Oaks Treatment Center.
Once you complete the detox process,* your typical day in treatment will revolve around groups and classes. Treatment will vary according to the patient and the day, but the following is a sample of a typical schedule:
- 6:30 am–8:00 am: Breakfast
- 8:00 am: Town hall community meeting
- 9:00 am–12:00 pm: Curriculum and process groups
- 12:00 pm: Lunch/free time
- 1:30 pm–4:30 pm: Recovery and focus groups
- 4:30–6:30: Dinner/free or recreational time
- 6:30 pm: AA or NA
- 7:30 pm: Wrap-up groups
- 10:00 pm: Lights out
*You may participate in some programming while still in detox, as long as you are medically stable and feeling well.
Family Visits
We understand that addiction affects not only the individual but also their loved ones. At River Oaks, we believe that family involvement in the recovery process plays a crucial role. Whenever possible, we encourage family visits during treatment to foster connection, understanding, and support.
Visiting Your Loved One
During your loved one’s treatment, we will work with you to plan a visit. Your loved one’s treatment team will provide you with all of the information you need to schedule your visit to River Oaks. Visitation privileges begin 7 days after the start of treatment.
*Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some family programs may not be operational. Visits may be delayed or may involve additional precautions.
Family Education
The family program at River Oaks is an educational program aimed at helping loved ones understand substance abuse, brain interactions with substance abuse, and psychosocial disorders with substance abuse.
Family education takes place weekly on Thursday evenings for patients and families for whom it is appropriate. Following family programming is a family outing, for those patients who are eligible to leave campus. Children are permitted based on age and appropriateness.
Family Therapy
Virtual or in-person family sessions may be offered if and when appropriate for patients and families.

In the event of a relapse at any time post-treatment, we will provide qualified individuals with up to 30 days of treatment at no cost to you.*
