Drug & Alcohol Rehab Daily Schedule Example
Clients in our residential treatment centers follow a highly-structure program that allows them to be fully engaged in their treatment, with limited down time during daylight hours.
Client schedules are customized to address the unique treatment needs of each individual and tailored to address not just the addiction, but also wellness of the mind, body, and spirit during their treatment stay.
What Do Patients in Rehab Do?
Patients in rehab often participate in many different activities, potentially including:
- Various forms of behavioral therapy.
- 12-Step facilitation therapy and other forms of peer support.
- Individualized family therapy.
- Group counseling.
- Psychoeducational sessions.
- Recreational activities.
- Expressive therapy sessions.
- Life skills education.
What Do Patients Learn in Rehab?
The aim of evidence-based addiction treatment is to not only help someone get sober but to give them the skills necessary to remain in recovery long after treatment ends.
Behavioral therapy and counseling may aim to help patients:
- Learn to avoid and cope with stress triggers.
- Alter negative thought patterns.
- Address environmental factors that contribute to their substance use.
- Foster better relationships.
- Develop life and vocational skills and a positive sober network of peers.
For many patients, medications for substance use disorder are an important part of their treatment and recovery, mitigating cravings and withdrawal symptoms, allowing them to focus on developing the skills and strategies listed above.
