September was National Recovery Month and Recovery First‘s Leila MacPherson, IOP Supervisor, had a chance to speak with Bill Martinez about the importance of the awareness month on his live radio show.

MacPherson spoke about the importance of increasing awareness of the disease, what Florida is looking at in terms of numbers of addiction and overdose, and how you or a loved one can get help for your substance abuse problem(s).

Martinez and MacPherson also discussed how the disease of addiction takes away hope from those in active addiction, and how National Recovery Month is extremely important for highlighting Recovery and showing that people do recover!
