AAC’s VP of Human Capital Interviewed on Medical Burnout
It goes without saying that the early stages of the pandemic were difficult on just about everyone, but physicians and healthcare workers were hit hardest. This period in time is one of the causes of the shortage of healthcare workers – many are not returning to work because of burnout.
According to AAC’s SVP of Human Capital, Tim Stein, healthcare worker burnout is caused in part by lack of job satisfaction, but also not feeling supported or valued by leadership in addition to poor relationships between leaders and staff.
Over the past three years, many healthcare workers have experienced trying times, but Stein offers a few tips for hospitals and medical practices to reduce burnout.
