Michele Hartmann Tamene

Michele Hartmann Tamene brings an impressive background in healthcare law and a wealth of experience from her previous roles. Of special interest, Michele was a nurse before obtaining her law degree so brings special insight to the Chief Legal Officer position at American Addiction Centers.

Before joining American Addiction Centers, Michele served as the Senior Counsel for Operations at United Surgical Partners International, Inc. providing legal, regulatory, and transactional guidance to Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Surgical Hospitals in a broad range of geographic markets. Prior to that, she served as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Epiphany Dermatology, helping to grow the physician management company. Throughout her career, Michele has held various significant roles, including General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Axelacare, a specialty pharmacy and home health agency company that was acquired by United Health Group; Assistant Privacy Officer for Fresenius Medical Care, a dialysis provider, where she developed their privacy program and as Assistant General Counsel at Fresenius Medical Care providing support to clinics and the Chief Medical Officer and his staff. Michele has gained valuable legal, regulatory and clinical expertise in multiple sectors of healthcare. Her legal expertise, coupled with her comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry, will be instrumental in guiding our legal strategies and decisions.
