Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Held for Orange County’s First Chemical Dependency Recovery Hospital
As the nation celebrates National Recovery Month this September, dozens gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Laguna Treatment Center on Thursday, September 22, 2016, to commemorate the opening of a new substance abuse treatment option in Southern California.
Laguna Treatment Center, an American Addiction Centers facility located in Aliso Viejo, is the first licensed Chemical Dependency Recovery Hospital in Orange County and one of a few in the state that is meeting the rapidly expanding need for detoxification beds in California and beyond.
“I am honored to be the CEO of this premier, state-of-the-art hospital and to bring this much needed service to our community at a time when our nation is facing a drug epidemic,” said Gil Carmona, CEO, Laguna Treatment Center. “National Recovery Month is a reminder that long-term recovery is possible and at Laguna Treatment Center we are committed to helping more people get on the path to recovery.”
The 93-bed facility offers research-based clinical and support services for adults struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. The hospital is also clinically suited for clients who require higher levels of monitoring and provides 24/7 nursing and daily physician care.
“We offer a personalized treatment approach,” said Dr. Lawrence Tucker, Medical Director, Laguna Treatment Center. “I believe in treating a person, not a diagnosis and working with the client to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to meet their specific needs. We also center the treatment on getting their brain and their life to a healthier state.”
